CIS Secure is seeking a Production Manager who will report directly to the Director of Production. This position provides the right individual with an opportunity to directly impact the success of the business and of your colleagues each and every day, while thriving in a solutions first, team focused culture! This person will manage production employees focused on delivering products that meet our quality requirements and delivery schedule.  Lead the efforts to drive production / manufacturing improvements / continuous improvements, coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management, Test, Procurement, etc.) to ensure manufacturing has the capacity to meet the production plan, documentation, and parts to meet the schedule. Communicating frequently with internal stake holders regarding production status, pending action items, recent developments, and production needs. Support and enforce continuous improvement and sustaining activities in Production. (including 5S, Time Studies to help reduce waste, improve throughput, resolve assembly and parts issues, etc.). This role is a hands-on role and will be expected to lead by example and become directly involved in the production process when and where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Daily / Weekly / Monthly production planning activities for products, including manufacturing jobs for paint shop and soldering department that are key internal suppliers of painted part, cables, and harnesses
  • Develop and maintain production planning process, documentation and to ensure the production schedule aligns with the top-level revenue schedule. Conduct weekly reviews with warehouse, procurement, paint shop, and soldering departments on part shortages and any challenges to meeting the schedule and report. In addition to below items:
    • Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products
    • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
    • Determine headcount, equipment, and raw materials necessary to cover production demand, short term and long term
    • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
    • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.)
    • Maintain organized supporting documentation
  • Present and report progress and performance to KPIs monthly
  • Clearly communicate objectives and deliverables to team members and key stakeholders; escalate obstacles and issues as needed
  • Manage day to day and annual performance communication for team members
  • Manage, in coordination with Director of Production, VP of Operations and Human Resources, employee relations and corrective action processes for team members
  • Manage and schedule employee training at appropriate intervals throughout the year
  • Manage team member work scheduling and timecard processes each week and pay period
  • Review and implement operations and plans to meet requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • This position anticipates 100% on-site work with regular hours, Monday-Friday.

 

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

  • Primary work location will be the CIS Secure headquarters facility located in Ashburn, VA. Minimal local travel is anticipated for this position.

CLEARANCE:

  • Must meet the definition of a US person as defined by the US regulations:

    • Any individual who is granted U.S. citizenship
    • Any individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder)
    • Any individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

CERTIFICATION(S):

  • None

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) or more years managing production with at least three (3) years of manufacturing planning experience

  • Demonstrated minimum five (5) years’ work experience managing people and managing production of multiple products which are complex and require testing

  • Strong Lean manufacturing experience; very detailed oriented; multi-task well; very versatile and quick to understand new challenges and bring them to completion with minimal support and guidance

  • Familiarity with Stage Gate methodologies

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Knowledge of ERP software, internet browsers, MS Office suite software
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), presentation and influencing skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, team building skills
  • Strong supervisory skills; ability to teach / coach employees

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and to reprioritize work focus on a regular basis.

     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to drive a car for client visits.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for the advertised job, promotion, or transfer opportunity. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered may vary based on various factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, education, geographic location, as well as internal equity, and alignment to market data.

Job Type: Full-time (onsite)

Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
